The lamp can rotate 360 in either the weighted base or clamp, so all this possible positioning makes this a very versatile lamp. The lamp tends to want to fully extend and not go close to the surface due to the springs, but you can find a happy medium. The head rotates 180 deg plus and the exterior springs allow for great arm adjustment. The on/off switch is located on the back of the lamp and is a simple twist for on and twist for off. Unless you like warming your hands on the shade I would go with the LED as the metal heats up and gets pretty hot. The bulb does not come with the lamp and up to 60 Watt incandescent or 10 Watt LED can be used, medium base. Assembly is easy and takes less than 2 minutes with the base and 5 with the clamp option. I originally thought this would be a good lamp for my workbench, but my wife had other ideas and now it’s on her craft table. The lamp can be used freestyle with the weighted base or clamped onto any flat surface with the clamping arm. ![]() The Architect balanced Arm desk lamp, 28 inches comes in four different colors, Matte Gray, Mint, Rose, and White.
